V1.0 of the Political Integrity formula tracked three key metrics:

1. Do they take corporate PAC money?

2. Do they hold individual stocks?

3. Does most of their money come from rich donors?

It was never meant to be a hard test to pass but yet there were a lot of failing grades.

Now, we are launching V2.0 of our formula, a massive overhaul to how we grade members of Congress.

Instead of just tracking the big three categories, our grading formula now includes:

• Total amount of earmarked funds

• Total number of trades and value of those trades

• Support for a basic set of anti-corruption bills

• Whether they have taken our Political Integrity Pledge to help get money out of politics

• Percentage of donations from small, medium, large, XL, and XXL donors

• Percentage of fundraising from PACs

• And much, much, more…

That’s not all.

California uses a “jungle” primary system where the top two candidates, no matter their affiliation, progress to the general election in November. This means that someone can easily sneak through the primary with under 20% of the vote.

Rep. Christian Menefee won the January 2026 special election but because Texas primaries are some of the earliest in the nation, he had to run again in March, this time in a new seat that was redrawn after Texas’ mid-decade redistricting. He led the March primary but will continue to run in yet another runoff against longtime Rep. Al Green in May.

No matter how many races he had to run, Rep. Christian Menefee followed through on his pledge to:

• Reject Corporate PAC money

• Support overturning Citizens United

• Support a ban on lobbying after leaving elected office

• Support a ban on Congressional stock trading + not hold individual stocks while in office

Not only is he the first candidate to take the Political Integrity Pledge and become a sitting member of Congress, but within just two months of being inaugurated, he has already sold off all of his individual stocks and signed onto two bills that would ban Congressional stock trading. That’s follow through.

The Political Integrity Pledge is not just paper, it’s a promise.

The Political Integrity Project poured $0.00 into these races but saw two candidates who have taken the pledge beat their industry-backed opponents.

Juliana Stratton won the Democratic Senate primary, overcoming $10,000,000 in Crypto lobby money spent against her. She bested former Reps. Raja Krishnamoorthi and Robin Kelly. Both of her opponents have received hundreds of thousands of dollars in corporate PAC money while in office. Juliana has taken none.

Daniel Biss won the Democratic primary for Illinois’ 9th House seat. He was up against Kat Abughazaleh, another candidate who took the pledge, and Laura Fine, a former state senator who was buoyed by $4,500,000 in outside spending from an AIPAC-front Super PAC, Elect Chicago Women. ECW went on to spend $1,400,000 in negative ads against Biss and another front organization, Chicago Progressive Partnership, spent $1,200,000 against Kat Abughazaleh.

No matter how hard AIPAC tries, they can’t stop a movement with money.

The Pro-Israel, Crypto, and AI lobbies have spent nearly $40 million on the Illinois Democratic primaries alone.

Fifteen candidates in Illinois have taken the Political Integrity Pledge to:

• Ban Congressional stock trading and own no individual stocks while in office

James Talarico is officially the first Senate candidate to take the Political Integrity Pledge and win. Throughout his campaign, Talarico centered the anti-corruption politics that are core to our mission and the results speak for themselves.

Just over two months ago, we launched a beta version of the Integrity Index, a first-of-its-kind platform that made it dead-simple to explore the personal finances and fundraising data for every member of Congress. While the beta version has been a great research tool for those curious about Congressional conflicts of interest, it was always just the beginning.

Over the past month, Nico and I have been hard at work to bring the Integrity Index out of beta. We are almost ready to show you what we have in store.

The updated version of the Integrity Index will be much more than a fancy database. It will be the central tool in the Political Integrity Project’s fight against the everyday corruption that has rotted our political system to its core.

Soon, you will be able to see the personal finances and fundraising data for every candidate for Congress side-by-side with the incumbents they are running against. www.integrityindex.us will be the go-to place for you and your friends to see which candidates are clean and who is bought and paid for, highlighting folks who have taken the Political Integrity Pledge on the homepage.

We have also added independent expenditure data, detailed fundraising breakdowns by size and location and revamped the design of the platform from the ground up. Importantly, all of this data will update live as new reports are filed with the FEC.

With the first primaries just over the horizon, we cannot wait to show you what we have been working on.
